Onasheelu

Of late, Vijay has been expressing his interest to do a Malayalam song. And with Onam round the corner, we thought of making something soon. I immediately rang Aparna, and asked her if she could write for us.

Aparna is a writer by herself. Currently working on movie projects, she's been a lyricist from her college days. She has penned lines for more than 20 songs, including albums and ones broadcasted on AIR.

Presenting a four liner( not again! :D ) - an Onasheel, the result of a jam at my place.
We are continuing to work on this song and this time, i promise we will post the complete song here.

Hope this brings in the festive mood, atleast for a minute.
Onaashamsakal!!!

Composed by: Vijay Krishna Mysore
Lyrics by: Paliyath Aparna Menon
Sung by : Sunil Koshy

Dearest Bro,,
The song is very nice... its kind of melody yet charming... its great work ...
one of my suggestions is that a line in the song says'vimbhum manasumay'' make it vinkkum manasumay... and in the sloka.. its not karesu but karyeshu...
my my what a transformation since we sang last... good good happy for u :)

Amazing effort by all that were involved.
Some pointers for improvement
a. Try to keep the breath away from the mic.
b. At some places I think you are holding up. Let go, open up your voice.(Your voice has the width, its just that you have believe in it)
c. Try to keep track of notes and swaras simultaneously.(there is this one particular moment where the vocal shadja doesnt coincide with the shruti/instrument shadja) I am not sure if its due to the mixing.

Like Divya mentions here please work a little more on the pronunciations of sanskrit words.

Good Luck

Thank you so much.

Shobhasri,
Thanks for the nice words.

Divya,
I did not get what you meant by 'vinkkum', but shall definitely work on the words. Thanks a lot for hearing the song.

Vikram Keshav,
My Guru & friend! Its an honour to have your comments here. Thank you so much for the suggestions.
I shall keep them in mind.

Another good one. Great improvement from the last year's singing Sunil. I am sure you are really working hard on it.

BTW, when are we going to hear a full composition? Eagerly awaiting for full 5 minutes of music and singing.

Lovely feel about the song. A very good one indeed. Hats off and a bow to you all.

A couple of points I felt I could tell here
I felt a little shrutibheda, maybe my ears, please check that

Your pronounciation.

But the "sarvakareshu" as you have pronounced in the shloka is right from the Hindustani angle. Perfectly in tandem with Hindustani.

You are all talented and gifted. Wishing you more and more success

The voice in neighbourhood is breezing out again.... Makes me feel like Onam is passing through...Congrats buddy, and just like Meghs pointed, I think something got misplaced in between. I think your home studio is the culprit??

To sum up, you gave out another awesome presentation!!!
Keep it going....

Uber splendid, bro! I'm proud of you.
Sad that it was too short.

Keep up with that flow from within.

Standing by for the extended version.
